An open manifesto / Oleh Minaiev / proposed v0.2
Working with AI has expanded what I can make. It has also made the question of how to spend my life more personal. I want to create from something I can feel and stand behind. This is my starting point for huhub, open to another person's experience.
I have no wish to spend my life competing with machines on the volume of analysis. My attention has a body, a history and a finite span. Desire, intuition, taste and lived experience help me recognise what deserves it.
Authorship means choosing a direction I can call my own, within circumstances I did not entirely choose. I use AI to extend my ability to act, and careful reasoning to question my choices. The work begins with a human intention I am willing to own.
A dream changes my relationship with work. It gives me a reason to stay with an idea when the first excitement passes and the difficult part begins. It helps me decide what deserves my time and which compromises would take the meaning out of it.
For me, a dream becomes strategic when it changes actual choices. Making it real becomes a way of shaping a life I recognise as mine.
A metaidea is an intention that can keep giving rise to new forms. A product carries it into the world; another product may carry it somewhere the first one could never reach.
For huhub, that intention is to expand people's ability to feel, learn and create something of their own, in contact with other people and the world.
This is the only path I see for my own work: build around a living idea, and let its products evolve, intertwine and sometimes become an ecosystem. A copied form captures a moment. The direction continues through choices, attention and experience. Its worth has to be renewed in what people actually live.
Experience is where an idea meets a person. A musical phrase can change the quality of a moment. A tool can make room for an action that used to feel impossible. I want what I make to open that kind of possibility.
My starting point is a Minimum Viable Experience (MVE): the smallest whole experience that carries the intention. I enter it as its first demanding user, looking for satisfaction and delight. I test what I claim and make the work's limitations visible. Other people bring their own judgement. Their experience and evidence from use can change both the work and its author.
For me, love for the work becomes real through care: staying with the difficult parts, noticing what fails, and answering for what I promise. I want to make things I am proud to show and prepared to stand behind.
In my work, AI lets a smaller team carry more of a whole product. Good work still takes time, judgement and care. My responsibility is to my choices, commitments and their effects. Taking it seriously also means recognising limits and leaving other people free to choose for themselves.
I am looking for people whose dreams and ways of seeing have a life of their own. Working together can reveal something none of us would have found alone.
Love and acceptance mean listening and making room for that difference, including disagreement, boundaries and a person's choice to decline or leave. No one has to adopt my worldview or disclose personal experiences to belong here. We can share a direction while keeping our own voices. I want huhub to be a place where independent people can meet, make something real and leave each other more able to create.
